There are times when the Universe taps you on the shoulder and leads you in the right direction.
I was a tad discouraged … Nothing was working right and I felt like throwing the computer out the window. Something pointed me to Being Persistent – Never Giving Up by Debbie Woods. It was just the punch in the arm I needed at that very moment—a time to reflect on the last decade and set goals for the new one.
The next stop was an article Feeling Stupid – .pdf reduces grown man to frustration. Whoa! Couldn’t have called it better …
Had just spent a few hours spinning my wheels in an attempt to connect the dots with CommentLuv, argggg! and to top it off, Google Friend Connect had a glitch. Something was NOT working and none of the “help” sites fit the bill.
I laughed while watching/reading Feeling Stupid. It was comforting to know that others were struggling with “techy” issues, too. I’ve always had an “I can solve anything” attitude; however, this particular moment was pretty intense. It was one of those “truly feeling stupid” scenarios.
So I re-read Being Persistent, took a break, walked the dog and returned to tackle the issues once more (having made a promise to myself to NOT call anyone for the answers).
Voila! It worked. The glitches were not insurmountable. It was rather like reconciling your bank account. When you can’t find an error if you step away from it for a bit, the next time you look at it the mistake will be staring you in the face.
My eternal gratitude to two wonderful mentors who brought that moment together for me. Inspiration personified! Taking a short break and revisiting the problem was the answer.
Many thanks to Debbie Wood and Andrea Goodsaid for helping me pull it together. They both provide excellent daily examples of True Leadership!
Here’s to NEVER GIVING UP!

Well I don’t know what was broke but you obviously got it all worked out! You’re blog looks dynamite GF! You are learning tons of stuff each day and your right, its easy to get overwhelmed.
Stepping away from the problem and coming back with clearer eyes is excellent advice in MANY problems! It sounds like that is a wonderful book to read!
It has really been a blessing to me to watch you overcome so many challenges! You are an inspiration!

Hi there Darlene, it’s so great to meet you. I’m looking forward to getting to know you better. This is one post that I can really relate to, but when I look back over the last few months, I realize that I’ve learned more in a few months than I had in years. And I think the majority of us struggle getting started. By the way, you Blog looks GREAT!

Thanks Darlene for this great reminder. We all have very different skill sets, and I don’t think there’s anybody that has not at one point or another experienced the feelings you’ve shared here.
Taking a break (but getting back to the issue) often times is a great solution. You should know, too, that there are many of us here who are always willing to lend a hand if you get stuck. You’re not alone.
With that being said, I do admire your determination. You’re doing an awesome job!
